OUR DIRECTOR
- Brittany Shaver Hagaman
Brittany began her dance
career at Steps Dance Studio in the Garland area. While dancing
competitively with Steps under the direction of Robin Mitchell and
Teresa Price, she won numerous overall awards as well as solo
awards.
Brittany has performed in
Dallas, Orlando, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Houston among
other small cities. She has performed in college football bowl games,
NCAA basketball playoff games, Miss Teen Texas pageants and as a
dancer in the movie “She Gets What She Wants”.
Brittany attended Rockwall
High School and was apart of the Stingerettes Varsity Drill Team under
the direction of Melissa Holliman. While on the team, she was a member
of the elite dance group, Showstoppers, and elite kick line, Kick
Club, her sophomore through senior years. She was awarded Junior
Lieutenant her Junior year and 1st Lieutenant her Senior
year. At the end of her senior year was awarded Best Dancer and Best
Officer by the team.
She continued her
education at Texas Christian University where she was a member of the
TCU Showgirls dance team. After attending two years at TCU she
decided to teach dance full time, as this was her passion in life.
After tearing her ACL she went back to school at Stephen F. Austin to
join her sister, Meredith, and graduated with a BA in Public Relations
and Advertising in December 2003.
Brittany has been teaching
dance now for 15 years. She has taught dance at many studios around
the area. She is also a teacher for American Dance and Drill Team
where she teaches officer and line camps during the summer. Brittany
was the JV Drill Team director and assistant Varsity director at
Sachse High School in the Garland School District from 2005-2007. Her
JV team and officers won many awards at the contests they attended.
Brittany is now entering her fourth
year as the Director of the Award Winning Swingsters. Brittany took her team to numerous
regional contests this year where won top honors and were Elite National Champions at the ADTS Nationals
competition in Denton. Brittany is honored to be a part of an amazing
organization and very excited about continuing her tradition of
excellence in her teams with the Swingsters.
